Channon Rural Fire Brigade is home to a committed team of volunteers who meet and train monthly.

Our meetings are held the first Monday of the month and training is the third Sunday of the month. The Brigade operates from the shed at 34 Standing Street, The Channon, which houses our primary firefighting appliance, a Category 2 Tanker. We are responsible as emergency management first responders for an area of approximately 70 square kilometres.

The brigade is led by Captain JJ Bruce who brings many years of firefighting experience and technical expertise to this role. He is supported by a dynamic team of volunteers who bring a range of strength and experience to the brigade. Our brigades capacity to fulfill our emergency management  roles and responsibilities is enhanced by a respective and inclusive atmosphere, which also makes the meetings and training fun and engaging.
