ONGOING PROJECTS:

Djaning Produce Swap

Participants trade and barter the general surplus of their farms and gardens. From excess citrus to jams and chutneys, from rainforest trees to medicinal herbs. It’s a great way to bond with the local community while learning about the foods and medicines that are available within our local biome. Everyone has a story as to how to best grow and prepare their favourite plant or dish.

The aim of the swap is to begin the long march towards decentralising and relocalising our food systems, as well as general plant food and medicine education.

Djaning feels this ties in closely with the local resilience movement as in our own small way it begins to address the myriad issues prevalent in our current globalised food system.

Our vision for the Djaning produce swaps is to encourage those that have an interest in a specific area to share their skills through small demonstrations, be it preserving, seed saving, preparation, growing etc. in a bid to share and expand all of our local knowledge.
